Current MLS Listings for Milestone
Hanover County (Zone 36)
Milesone continued the Sliding Hill Road corridor residential development momentum that began with Kings Charter in middle 1980’s.
Featuring the typical PUD characteristics (central clubhouse with pool, tennis, playground and green space), Milestone is really two neighborhoods in one. A large creek bed divides the largely open and minimally treed front half from the rear (and much more densely treed) sections of the overall property.
As would be expected, the homes in the front (and earlier) sections of the neighborhood are slightly smaller (both homes and lots) and tend to be less luxurious on average than the homes to the rear. The larger homes to the rear were also brought on line during as the market was beginning its rapid ascent (2003-05) and the demand was for larger and larger homes. Much of the topography of Milestone was conducive for basements and many builders took advantage.
Generally speaking, the architectural styles within the neighborhood are period with ‘transitional’ and ‘colonial’ styled homes with ‘open concept’ interiors. Most homes have side entry garages and dimensional shingles along with other upgraded finishes as standard. It is not a 4-sided brick neighborhood but many homes feature some brick on the front to add character.
StyleCraft, Tomac and Parker Orleans (now Orleans Homebuilders) were the dominant builders within the subdivision. The neighborhood is served by the well-respected schools of Atlee area and is strategically situated near the 95/295 interchange making Downtown, Innsbrook/Shortpump and the Richmond Airport all a 20-25 minute drive.
