Current MLS Listings for Rocketts Landing
Henrico County (Zone 40/42)
Rocketts Landing is Henrico County’s first real attempt at ‘new urbanism.’ It was developed by WVS Companies of Alexandria VA, after being acquired from the original developer, William Abeloff. Abeloff was one of the first of Richmond’s developers who realized the potential of repositioning Downtown into the mixed-use environment it is fast becoming. His first generation of apartments along Richmond’s riverfront in the historic warehouses of Shockoe began the trend of revitalization of Downtown.
Rockett’s Landing, built along the James River east of Richmond’s Downtown, was created to offer a newly constructed living option with walkability to service amenities and proximity to both Downtown and the water. Featuring condos, apartments, town homes and several successful restaurants set in a dense and vertical environment, Rocketts has been successful despite a challenging economic environment.
The condominium section of the community is built is separate phases, each offering a slightly different style and design:
- Cedar Works (historic renovation)
- Fall Line (upscale and more traditional)
- Sky Line (upscale and more traditional)
- 210 Rock (contemporary/modern aesthetic)
The Bankside Mews/Riverbank Terraces, the truly upscale town homes along the River, as well as several section of ‘Townes’ compliment the ‘for sale’ condo product within Rockett’s.
Rockett’s is generally thought to be a part of Richmond, despite the fact it is located within the county of Henrico and outside of Richmond’s boundaries, but is situated in the direct path of much development momentum. As Richmond continues to experience pressure to expand back towards the east, the opportunities to engage the River and the amenities of Downtown will help fully absorb Rockett’s into the overall footprint of Richmond.
